Tash Harry – Chief Chaos Coordinator

If you’re looking for someone who can bottle-feed a baby kangaroo at 3am, relocate a python from your kitchen, and still have time to rescue a goat from a fence, meet Tash, the founder and fearless leader of Emerald Acres Animal Rescue Inc.—a sanctuary where the disabled, the orphaned, and the delightfully feathered all find a second chance (and probably a hilarious nickname). Tash didn’t just wake up one day and decide to rescue half of WA’s wildlife—no, this was a lifelong dream. And now, with a motley crew of volunteers and and crazy drive, she makes it happen daily. She is a loving wife & a dedicated mother to two grown kids. In 2020 she beat breast cancer, after sessions of chemo & radiation. Oh—and she has a pacemaker. Installed at 42. No biggie. Natasha is living proof that compassion, chaos, and caffeine can move mountains (or at least wrangle kangaroos). She is unstoppable, unfiltered, and utterly unforgettable.

Mick “Bear” – Builder, Softie, Reluctant Hero

Mick was gently coerced into the world of wildlife rescue. One minute he was fixing fences, the next he was caring for joeys at sunrise. Despite his best efforts to appear unimpressed by the chaos of joeys and loud-mouthed galahs, Mick is a total softie. Watch closely and you’ll see him checking heat lamps, building shelters, and gently calming terrified critters like a gruff Aussie Dr. Dolittle. Just don’t tell anyone, okay? Mick is also the farm’s go-to handyman. He’ll be the first to say he’s not a carpenter – but what he builds will survive a cyclone and probably the apocalypse. It may not win beauty contests, but it’ll stand forever. Living with PTSD from his military service, Mick quietly takes on the weight of the world — but finds purpose, pride, and a bit of peace in the daily rhythms of the rescue. His loyalty, strength, and dry humour are the backbone and though he might growl now and then, we all know inside this Bear is the gentlest soul of all.
